Over the past year or so my interest in wanting to be self sufficient has significantly increased. Now I will admit that all the shows on tv really got the juices flowing even more, but having lived in the country all my growing up years gave me a lot of knowledge that I didn't even realize I had. The only problem is we live in town and we are dirt poor. Barely being able to put food on the table we had to do something and fast. I very quickly learned how to find the best deals at the grocery store and cut our grocery bill down. I have tried out recipes I didn't even know I could make. I've learned I know a little bit about a lot of stuff and when I combine that knowledge I was amazed to find how much I actually do know. I love doing the things I learned as a kid and the new things I have learned as an adult. I've learned to modify things to accommodate living in town from living in the country. For example I can't tear up the yard for a garden but I still grew some garden plants. I can't have chickens for my own eggs but through a little networking I found some one that does where I can get free eggs. I am hoping through my blog I can share some of my knowledge and learn so much more through my readers.
